The older I become,
 We wiser I become
I learn to discern opportunities I need to walk away from
Threats I must absolutely embrace with open arms
Weakness I ought to consciously celebrate
And strengths I need to completely ignore
The older I become
 The better I become
I learn to talk more and deliberately listen less
Plan complex battles without complex strategies
Rejoice in the face of grossly irrevocable failure
And dream new dreams in the face of refreshing prosperity
The older I become
 The weaker I become
I learn to constantly see way beyond myself
Embrace the plain needs of companionship and fellowship
Regrettably, take stock of purposes and things undone
And become increasingly aware of a higher being than my existence
The older I become
 The stronger I become
I learn to accept that strength lies in my mind
Be thankful for every new breath of air I take in
Pay more attention to the simple & mundane things in life
And naturally skew towards redemption and reconciliation
The older I become
 The younger I become
A world of darkness is about to end
An eternity of wonder is about to begin
Unlike birth, death is certain and precise
And I decide where my new home will be
The older I become…
