the chrysalis of transition
with an infinity of possibilities
why think death is the end
it could as well be transition
from one state of being to another
something to wonder about, not dread
combustion
explosion
expansion
contraction
with every breath I am reborn
inhale all life that has ever been
exhale, and a part of me becomes a part of all that is and was and will be
a constant state of transition
and when I die
I’ll give my breath back to the air
my blood back to the sea
my bones and hair return to sand
my spirit to the universal fire
and from the chrysalis of infinite possibilities
a new life will emerge
